Pearl Stringing

I am now able to offer a comprehensive Pearl restringing service.

Pearls should be restrung every 1-2 years, depending on the amount of wear and the exposure to hair spray, perfume, body oils, lotions, moisture, and perspiration they receive. With strands of pearls, dirt and grease eventually gets in between the pearls and attacks the material upon which they are threaded. As the thread weakens, then there is more chance of it snapping. Eventually, the thread will look discoloured and tired.

I would recommend if you wear your pearls once a week or more that you have them re-strung  every 1-2 years. If you wear them only once a month them they probably only need to be restrung every 3-4 years.

I not only re string Pearls, if you have bought some loose pearls while on holiday or away on business I can either do a simple stringing for you or suggest designs to bring out the beauty in your pearls. On a recent visit to Venice I purchased some beautiful pieces of Murano Glass which I have made into matching necklaces and earring sets.
